Fees and practicalities
Clear, straightforward information about session formats, fees, insurance, and how working together works in practice.
Practical details can feel like a lot when you are already carrying a great deal. My aim is to keep this part clear, straightforward, and easy to navigate.
How we meet
Sessions are offered in the following formats:
In person (Shinfield, Reading)
Online (video)
By phone
If you have access needs or practical questions, you are very welcome to ask.
Session times
Rates vary depending on the time of day:
Standard hours: 9:00 am–5:00 pm (UK local time), Monday–Friday, excluding bank holidays
Early / late: before 9:00 am or after 5:00 pm (UK local time), weekends and bank holidays by arrangement, or where 50-minute sessions are scheduled less frequently than weekly
Sessional fees (self-funded clients)
Individual psychotherapy · Couple therapy · Group therapy
Where appropriate, ILF neurofeedback may be integrated into individual work.
| Session type | Duration | Standard | Early / late |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual or Couple | 50 mins | £108 | £120 |
| Individual or Couple | 80 mins | £174 | £192 |
| Group (per person) | 90 mins | £48 | £54 |
Most individual clients begin with weekly 50-minute sessions.
That is often the simplest and most sustainable starting point, though in some situations a different frequency, duration, or format may make more sense.
If you are unsure which session length or frequency may suit you best, we can talk it through in the consultation.
Additional practical details
Neurofeedback-only sessions
50 minutes, charged at the same fee as a 50-minute individual session
ILF neurofeedback is offered in person only.
We can also think together about whether it is best used on its own or alongside psychotherapy.
Couple work
“Couple” means any relationship between two people.
50-minute sessions are often weekly, while 80-minute sessions are often fortnightly. The choice depends partly on practicality, but also on what gives enough space, continuity, and support for the work.
Group work
Group participation usually involves a commitment to weekly attendance.
Health insurance and third-party funding
I work with clients funded by some health insurers, including Cigna and WPA.
Where possible, I prefer clients to pay me directly and then reclaim from their insurer.
If the insurer does not cover the full fee, the client remains responsible for any shortfall.
Organisational consultancy and specialist input
Fees for organisations engaging me as a consultant psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, or trauma specialist are available on request.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the work or request a fee proposal.
A brief professional profile is available for organisations, clinics, and consultant-led services considering referral, supervision, or consultancy.
Clinical supervision fees
Individual supervision (50 mins)
Charged at the same fee as a standard 50-minute individual therapy session.
Group supervision (2–4 supervisees, 100 mins)
Each supervisee is charged the same fee as an individual 50-minute supervision session.
Supervision can be arranged according to what best fits the practitioner or group’s needs.
My therapy room in Shinfield (Reading)
