Fees, booking and practicalities
Practical information for working together
This page outlines current fees, session formats, insurance, cancellations, and practical arrangements.
Practical details can feel like a lot when you are already carrying a great deal. My aim is to keep this part clear, steady, and easy to navigate.
The first step is usually a free 20-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to make initial contact, talk briefly about what you are looking for, and consider whether working together may be appropriate.
Session fees for self-funded clients
The fees below apply to self-funded appointments, including individual therapy, couple therapy, ILF neurofeedback, and individual supervision.
Fees are based on appointment length and timing, rather than on the type of work.
Standard hours are 9.00 am–5.00 pm UK local time, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Early / late appointments are appointments before 9.00 am or after 5.00 pm UK local time. Weekend and bank holiday appointments may occasionally be arranged by discussion.
| Appointment duration | Standard hours | Early / late |
|---|---|---|
| 50 minutes | £108 | £120 |
All fees shown are the total amount payable.
The same 50-minute appointment fee applies whether the session is for individual therapy, couple therapy, ILF neurofeedback, or individual supervision.
Where clinically helpful, longer or alternative appointments may sometimes be discussed and agreed in advance. These are charged proportionally, based on the applicable 50-minute fee.
Sessions arranged less frequently than weekly are charged at the early / late rate, as they require greater flexibility in scheduling.
Group therapy fees are available on request, depending on the nature and availability of the group.
How we meet
Sessions are available:
in person, in Shinfield, Reading, Berkshire
online, by video
by phone, where appropriate
ILF neurofeedback is available in person only.
If you have access needs or practical questions, you are very welcome to ask.
Language
Therapy and clinical supervision can be offered in English or Italian.
If working in Italian would feel more natural or supportive, you are welcome to raise this in the initial consultation.
Session times and frequency
Individual therapy, couple therapy, ILF neurofeedback, and individual supervision usually take place in 50-minute appointments.
Where clinically appropriate, 80-minute appointments may be discussed, particularly where more space is needed for the work.
Session frequency and format are discussed together according to what is likely to be most helpful and sustainable.
Clinical supervision
Individual supervision usually takes place in 50-minute appointments and follows the same fee structure as regular self-funded appointments.
Group supervision is arranged separately according to the size, frequency, and structure of the group.
For a regular group of 2–4 supervisees meeting for 100 minutes, each supervisee is usually charged the same fee as a 50-minute individual supervision appointment.
Specific arrangements
ILF neurofeedback
ILF neurofeedback is available in person only.
It is usually offered within an ongoing psychotherapeutic process or, where clinically appropriate, alongside work with another relevant clinician.
Couple therapy
“Couple” means any relationship between two people.
Session frequency and format are discussed according to what offers enough space, continuity, and support for the work.
The way we work together is agreed collaboratively rather than assumed in advance.
Insurance, referrals, and funded work
I work with clients funded by some health insurers.
Unless direct billing has been agreed in advance, clients are responsible for paying my fee directly and arranging any reimbursement from their insurer.
If an insurer or third-party funder does not cover the full fee, the client remains responsible for any shortfall.
I welcome self-referrals and professional referrals, including from GPs, psychiatrists, health insurers, case management organisations, counsellors and psychotherapists, therapeutic communities, and corporate or organisational sources.
Organisational consultancy and specialist input
Fees for organisations engaging me as a consultant psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, or trauma specialist are available on request.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss the work or request a fee proposal.
A brief professional profile is available for organisations, clinics, and consultant-led services considering referral, supervision, or consultancy.
Cancellations and missed sessions
I ask that sessions are attended at the agreed frequency wherever possible.
If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as you can.
Cancellations with less than one working day’s notice, and missed sessions, are usually charged in full.
Full details of my cancellation policy, working arrangements, and other practical terms are set out in the Administrative Agreement, which I share before we begin.
My therapy room in Shinfield, Reading
The room is used for in-person therapy, couple therapy, supervision, and ILF neurofeedback.
There is usually free parking near the building.
Please note: there is currently no wheelchair access and no accessible toilet.
You do not need to decide everything in advance.
The free 20-minute consultation is a chance to ask initial questions and get a first sense of whether working together may be appropriate.
If we decide to begin, the first sessions give us more time to understand what you are looking for, what may be needed, and how the work might usefully start.
If you have questions about fees, format, or timing, the FAQ may help.
There is no pressure to continue.
